What is CryoSculpting?

Cryolipolysis, or Cryo Sculpting, uses cold temperatures to break down targeted areas of fat cells. This procedure developed from the noticings of a doctor in the ’70s. Seeing what appeared as fat degradation in the cheeks of children who enjoyed sucking on ice chips sparked research into the correlation between fat loss and exposure to extremely cold temperatures. This research has developed into what we today call Cyrolipolysis.

As a non-invasive procedure, Cryo Sculpting destroys the targeted fat cells so you do not have to worry about them regenerating. By exposing targeted areas of fat to freezing temperatures the fat cells are deadened and then safely flushed from the body through the liver, resulting in targeted fat loss that is seen in 1–3 months.

Most patients find the process easily tolerable. Certain phases of the procedure may cause some amount of discomfort. This includes some moderate tugging and stretching of the skin, and localized feelings of intense cold before numbness sets in. However, the majority of patients do not describe these feelings as “painful”.

You will start to see results as soon as your body begins to discard the frozen cells. It is possible to see some noticeable differences around 21 days after the treatment, but the most apparent changes will be visible after around 60 days. This can continue for about 6 months total, as your body will continue to remove the dead cells over a continuous period. This timeline is not guaranteed, as different bodies may experience the changes differently.

Cryo Sculpting is most effective at removing pockets of fat that are difficult to target with diet and exercise. However, the process should not be thought of as a general weight loss solution, as it is designed to target smaller pockets of fat, not total fat around the whole body. Ideally, a patient should be within a reasonable range of their ideal weight, so that their skin will have enough elasticity to tighten over their slimmer figure when the process is completed.

How long are Cryoskin treatments?

The treatment lasts 20-60 minutes depending on the desired area and treatment type.

How often can I get treatments?

Cryo treatments can be performed once every 14 days and CryoToning and Cryo Facial treatments can be performed every 3-7 days.

How quickly will I see results?

Results are typically visible after the first 5 treatments – however, some can see results immediately. Results continue to improve for 48 hours after the treatment.

What should I do pre/post-treatment?

Avoid working out 2 hours pre-treatment. Avoid carbs/sugars for a minimum of 2 hours before and after the treatment. Ensure that you drink enough water (half your body weight in ounces) every day for the 14 days following your treatment.
